Health insurance can be a confusing area for anyone to navigate, with difficult concepts to understand for someone who is not well versed in insurance. One of the most confusing areas is health insurance riders and exclusions. Every company is different, although all must comply with federal, state, and local laws. However, the details of each policy's riders and exclusions vary widely from insurance company to insurance company. Even within a single company, coverage will vary from one plan to the next. So how is a novice supposed to learn about riders and exclusions if there are so many different options?

First, it would help to understand exactly what health insurance riders and exclusions are and what they are not. Exclusions cover health conditions, treatments, and other medical procedures that are excluded from coverage in whole or in part. Riders are changes to the standard policy. For example, a rider might specifically exclude treatments for a pre-existing condition in order for an otherwise uninsurable patient to get coverage. A rider might also feature changes to the standard policy such as capping a family's deductible at a certain amount no matter how many dependents are covered.

While each company has their own policies regarding health insurance riders and exclusions, there are some standards that apply to all or most companies. For example, typical exclusions from coverage include:

1. Pre-existing conditions
2. Cosmetic or plastic surgery
3. Infertility treatments
4. Co-ordination of benefits (to prevent duplicate payments for the same covered event)
5. Experimental treatments, procedures, or medications
6. Dental maintenance, treatments, or procedures
7. Injuries sustained during criminal activity, during times of war, while under the influence, or while serving in the military
8. Vision correction including eye exams, eyeglasses, contacts, or corrective surgery

Likewise, there are standards in terms of riders. Insurance policies must be written to comply with federal, state, and local laws. As such, most insurance companies write policies based on a standard insurance form. When an insurance company offers a customer or group of customers additional coverage or different terms, a rider must be written separately as an addendum to the standard form policy. Some common riders include:

1. Indemnity (doubling or tripling benefits for qualifying death or dismemberment)
2. Impairment riders (to specifically exclude a pre-existing condition)
3. Premium riders (skipping premiums during lengthy hospital stays and other premium-related changes)
4. Additional coverage for specific conditions, treatments, or procedures

If you need assistance in locating particular coverages at a pre-determined price, we can help save 50% on health insurance.

Fertility foods are specific foods that are not only healthy but also target problem areas in your reproductive system. When you plan to have a baby, you not only have to avoid alcohol and eat a daily balanced diet, you also have to take servings of specific foods that actually boost fertility. Medical experts now agree that food plays a huge role in improving fertility.

Below are four non-vegan foods that can help boost fertility in both men and women. Although vegetarian and vegan diets are superior for health and optimal fertility and this site advocates switch to a mainly vegetarian/vegan diet, we do get requests from the meat-eaters on what to include in their diet that's not a seed or a vegetable or a fruit. So for the meat-lovers here it goes (vegans skip this article);

1. Fish roe

Fish roe are the fully ripe masses of fish eggs. They are rich in vitamin D, vitamin B12, omega-r fatty acids, DHA, EPA and trace minerals. Because they are extra rich in vitamins and minerals, fish roe can improve your fertility as well as aid lactation after your baby has been born. Fish roes have been used for centuries to help couples get pregnant. Nutritional researcher Weston A. Price has found out that roes are used by people in the arctic region as a means of improving fertility among men and women. He has also found out that people from far inland make great efforts to go to the sea and collect fish roe for their childbearing women to ensure healthy babies are born.

Men having problems fathering a child have been found to have significantly lower levels of omega-3 fatty acid in their sperm. Fish roes have high ratios of omega-3 fatty acids to omega-6 fatty acids, a ratio of 10 to 1, and so regular consumption of roes will increase the omega-3 levels in your body and help to improve fertility in both men and women.

Caviar, which is the roe of the oil-rich fish sturgeon, has the same high ratio of omega-3 to omega-6. Salmon fish roes are among the most potent roes for male and female fertility.

Studies have confirmed that regular supplementation of DHA, found in fish roes and cod liver, may help restore fertility in infertile couples. However do not self prescribe cod liver oil due to it's high vitamin A content.

2. Egg yolks

Egg yolks are very nutrient dense. They are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, choline, vitamin A and vitamin E. Choline is especially important in preconception and in the prenatal diet because it helps your baby develop a healthy nervous system. Researchers and medical experts are promoting adequate choline consumption, especially during pregnancy and lactation. Choline is essential in the healthy development of the teeth, and also the brain. Mothers who have adequate choline levels in their system have higher chances of giving birth to babies with good memory retention. Choline may also help decrease the cognitive dysfunction associated with Down Syndrome.

3. Shellfish

Shellfish, oysters in particular, are full of vitamin D, vitamin B12, minerals such as zinc, iron, copper and selenium. Consuming 6 medium-sized oysters can provide you with two thirds the daily requirement of vitamin D and three times the daily requirement for vitamin B12. Vitamin D is especially important for women planning to get pregnant because it helps inhibit glucose regulation, helps develop healthy bones and strengthens the uterus, preparing it for labor.

4. Liver, the not so popular fertility food, may be one of the most important foods for couples trying to get pregnant. It is rich in folate, pantothenic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin A, riboflavin and niacin. Folate and vitamin A are especially important because inadequate levels of these two have been found to cause birth defects, palate malformation and neural defects. Only buy organic liver.

With increased industrialization and commercialization, the nutrient-dense diets of earlier societies have changed to nutritionally deficient fast foods and processed foods. Strive for a balanced and organic diet. Be sure to integrate fertility food into your diet and you are well on your way to a babymaking fit body.

Often women that are pregnant discover yoga since it is a way to heal, gain body awareness and nurture oneself. Yoga when you are pregnant helps to strengthen the body for child bearing and aids in relieving the common discomforts the body experiences. Yoga helps you find the time and space to look within yourself, allowing you to openly explore your own intrinsic knowledge about the cycles of life. It is an opportunity to come together with a circle of women to share and connect with some of the dreams and scares that pregnancy brings as well.

A prenatal and postnatal yoga practice can help you

* Support your health before and after pregnancy
* Connect you with other parents who are at all stages of pregnancy
* Improve your postpartum recovery
* Helps to strengthen the body for child bearing and aids in relieving the common discomforts the body experiences. prenatal yoga poses
* Alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica.

Cautions about practicing yoga while pregnant:

Since nausea is common during the first part of pregnancy it may be helpful to practice in a well-ventilated room. During the second trimester your growing belly will require modifying some poses. Use common sense and avoid putting too much pressure on the abdomen in poses like Head To Knee Postures, Seated Forward Fold, as well as Seated Spinal Twists. You may choose to reduce the amount of vinyasa if generating heat in the body makes you uncomfortable.

The third trimester will require you to continue to adapt and even omit certain postures. Standing poses like Extended Triangle Pose, and Extended Side Angle Pose can help relieve back pain. And a simple inversion such as Legs-Up-the-Wall-Pose can help to relieve puffy ankles. Some poses might require additional props or support. Through each trimester the most important thing is to tune in to what your body is telling you and alter your practice accordingly. During and after pregnancy, try not to be attached to your level of flexibility. Pregnancy is a great time to learn how to emotionally, spiritually and physically release.

Other words of wisdom for pregnant women interested in yoga: Linking yoga postures with breath will lead you to new discoveries, bringing awareness to the mind, body and soul, and also the spirit of your growing baby. Your practice will help to foster a sense of calm and acceptance as well as strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, aid in digestion, exercise the spine and increase overall comfort. Yoga can also alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica. Being in a community gives you access to a safe circle so you can freely discuss any issues, from discomforts and concerns, to the wonderful new changes your body and baby are experiencing. It is very important to inform the teacher of any complications (current or past) or any treatment that you are receiving.

During pregnancy ligaments around the joints become loose and soft. Care should therefore be taken not to overstretch the body. The abdomen should remain relaxed and soft at all times to allow room for the baby.

Pregnancy can make you feel more tired than usual. It is essential to be aware of this and try not to do things to the point of fatigue. If you feel tired after yoga or any other physical exercise, it means that the practice has been faulty or that you have done too much. Signals such as pains, stitches, cramps, nausea, dizziness, headaches and contractions should never be felt during or after yoga practice. Yoga generates energy, rather than dissipating it.

Unneutered cats are very prolific breeders and can produce three litters a year when left to their own devices. The female cat is usually able to breed from as young as six months old, sometime even younger.

The signs of a cat in heat or to use its medical name Oestrus, can be quite subtle and can be easily missed by cat owners. Although there will be some bleeding during this time, it is a lot less noticeable than in a human and if the cat is allowed outside may be missed completely. Usually the first indications that a cat is "on heat" are changes in behaviour. Often the female cat will become overly friendly towards everyone and will rub herself around your legs more frequently than usual. She will also roll around on her back more often, make unusual yowling noises and will want to urinate more often, which helps to spread her scent around.

If your female cat does have contact with complete male cats during this time, it is likely that she will mate with all that she encounters. This explains why a litter of kittens may contain many different fur colourations and markings, as they may all have different fathers.

The gestation period for a cat is between 60 and 65 days and the first signs that your cat is pregnant may not be evident until the third week of pregnancy, when her nipples will start to become enlarged. By week four the pregnancy should become visible and it during this time that a vet will be able to feel the kittens through her abdomen.

During your cats pregnancy it is important that your cat is fed top quality cat food, choosing one that is formulated for kittens is a good choice as it is higher in protein and calcium. However over feeding should be avoided, as over weight cats can suffer complications during birth. Extra vitamins may be beneficial to your pregnant cat, but supplements should not be given without the approval from a qualified vet.

As the birth draws near, the queen will start to look for a place to have her kittens. She will probably want to choose a quiet secluded familiar place that is warm and secure. As an owner you can help choose this place by placing a cardboard box lined with newspaper in a quiet warm room. Food, water and a litter tray should also be placed near by to encourage your queen to make this her birthing box.

One of the first signs that your cat is preparing to give birth is that her appetite will decrease and she will either begin to want to be on her own more than usual or she may seek out human affection to help reassure her. Also her mammary glands will become very swollen and may start to produce milk a few days before the actual birth.
During this time it is important for the owner to keep a close eye on the cat and to watch out for any signs of distress or illness. Any signs of a temperature or if the cat has not eaten at all for 24 hours, should be investigated by a vet.

Cats are normally able to give birth without any problem completely by themselves. The process appears to be practically pain free, and apart from the actual straining, the cat seems unperturbed by the whole situation. Human intervention is rarely needed, even dealing with the umbilical cord and fetal membranes can be left to the cat.

After the first kitten is born it may not be for another hour or so before the next kitten is born. However it is not unusual for successive kittens to be born 12 to 24 hours after this first wave of kittens. It is therefore important not to let your cat out or try to handle them for at least 24 hours, to make sure that the process is completed. Reassuring strokes and tickles will be enough to comfort the cat and reassure her that all is well. Fresh water, food and a litter tray should be provided close by.

Mother and kittens should be allowed to be left alone to bond and the handle of the kittens should be minimal for the first 24 hours so that our scent does not mask their own and their mothers.

Every culture has interpreted mother's day differently. In the English culture, this tradition started on the fourth Lent Sunday and all the laborers were allowed to go and visit their mothers. They used to bring presents and since then, this day was reserved for this purpose only.

In America, mother's day was celebrated on the second Sunday of May. This tradition started on the will of Anna Jarvis who wanted this particular day to show gratitude to mothers after her mother died. Also, people believe that the initiation of the concept of mother's day started when Mother Mary got the honor and recognition she deserved. On the other hand, Greeks and Romans had their very own concept of Mother's Day. They used to celebrate the existence of the Mother of Gods who they used to believe in.

Mother's day gained much more popularity when the president of the United States declared the day as a national holiday in 1914. This particular decision made the day not only popular in the USA, but also popular worldwide. Today, nearly every country celebrates mother's day in accordance with the world wide celebrations. Some nations however celebrate the day on different occasions but the meaning everywhere is the same.

The idea of mother's day is a beautiful and deep one; to celebrate the existence of mothers and whatever they do for their kids in upbringing them. The compromises and sacrifices mothers make in bringing up their children in the best possible manner are appreciable and are shown and recognized on this particular day. On the other side, even the business world has taken much advantage from this day. Mother's day is now second to the most celebrated occasion worldwide, while the first is Christmas. It has also become one of the most commercialized events worldwide.

Apart from the celebration and the formality of the day itself, if we consider what mothers are doing for us, then we would realize that setting aside one day to show her appreciation is near to letting her services down. Hence, mothers should not only be honored on this day, but we should spend each day of our lives thanking them for giving us birth and then upbringing us in the best possible manner she could. Our mothers care for us, feed us, take our pains and are always there for us in times of difficulties, and this is something we should appreciate everyday and make her feel special.

If we look at the fact that we actually honor our mothers on Mother's day, then we would realize that mothers deserve a lot more than this. However it is their greatness that they don't even expect anything in return when they care for us nearly their entire lives. Therefore, it shouldn't just be Mother's day but we should make every day of their lives great by making her proud of ourselves. We should show her appreciation every day for whatever she has done for us and whatever she is doing for us.

If you have suddenly started snoring during pregnancy, consider it normal. Anytime during the 9 months of pregnancy, women start snoring but it is more normal during the last trimester. Snoring during pregnancy is usually based on the fact that the sudden increase in weight constricts the respiratory passages and puts pressure on the lungs leading to snoring. You might be snoring mildly or heavily depending upon individual constitution and weight gain. Not only would your partner or spouse be getting disturbed but it robs you of the much needed rest for the whole body and brain.

Though usually a minor disturbance, snoring during pregnancy can lead to severe health hazards not only for the mother but also for the unborn baby. If you have been feeling that you are sleep deprived and showing symptoms of daytime drowsiness, heightened irritability, memory problems, low concentration levels and poor alertness it is time to consult your gynaecologist or health care professionals to find the right snoring solution.

The onset of snoring usually brings on other related health hazards which can be harmful for both the mother and the baby. Snoring is a warning sign by the body that it is at a risk of developing diseases such as hypertension, heart related problems, diabetes, strokes and during pregnancy, preeclampsia is a risk that needs to be avoided.

If you or your spouse is confused with the sudden snoring episodes, it is good to understand the real reason behind your snoring. The ongoing noise of snoring not only affects the snorer but the bed partner. Thus, keeping in mind the well being and health of the 'would be' mother, unborn baby and the bed partner, it is best to look for a safe, non invasive snoring solution.

Usually excess weight gain, nasal congestion, pressure on the lungs due to increasing weight of the developing foetus are the leading causes of snoring during pregnancy. In most cases, snoring stops after delivery. Though in some cases, post natal snoring continues but snoring solutions can help you avoid the nightly discomfort and noise.

The sleep deprivation and fatigue that sets in due to snoring needs to be resolved at the earliest. The excess weight gain leads to layers of fat being deposited in and around the throat region which compresses the delicate breathing passages leading to soft tissue vibrations also called snores. Nasal congestions and breathing constrictions due to increasing pressure on the lungs is also a leading cause of snoring.
Using a variety of snoring remedies can help you stop snoring.

Nasal strips to widen the breathing passages while anti snoring nose drops lubricate the throat and nasal passages and help to smooth over the soft tissues causing lower vibrations. This puts a stop to snoring. Chin straps, mouth guards, throat sprays and nasal lubricating sprays work well for most people. As these snoring solutions are safe and devoid of any chemicals or are gadgets, there are no side effects. However, if you are sceptical of using anti snoring solutions, consult your doctor.

When a person wants to find a new career in this troubling economy, he or she might not know where to look. There are, though, some careers that are better than others and that are in more demand right now. Most of these are in the field of medicine, such as nursing, doctoring, midwifery, and care assistants. Getting into this field can take some time, but there are a lot of schools that can help you, and which career you pick will have a lot to do with the length of time you'll have to wait before you can complete school and actually start working. With nursing, you can get through schooling pretty quickly. You have to go through an approved school, and you have to pass a test showing that you can meet the requirements of the profession.

Other medical careers are more difficult, such as those of doctors. They require much more schooling than nurses, and they also require much more testing. Doctors also have to complete a residency where they work but they are supervised by more experienced doctors in order to judge their skills and what they do and do not handle well from a medical standpoint. Care assistants have it much easier because they do a lot of easier work such as bathing and feeding patients and working with the elderly and the disabled. They go to school for the shortest amount of time because they don't have to learn how to give IVs, dispense medications, or handle other complex medical issues.

Midwives work in place of doctors or along with doctors in some cases. They deliver babies and handle prenatal and postnatal care. While they aren't trained in everything that a doctor is, they are certainly trained to deliver babies properly, and they have to go to school for this, pass testing requirements, and be supervised before they are allowed to go out on their own and do this kind of work. No matter what part of the medical field you want to get into there are many different things that you'll have to lean and tests that you'll have to take and pass. These things can make you nervous but that will soon pass as you discover the exciting field of medicine and how much you are able to help other people with your knowledge and skills. It's a great career choice in this economy, too.

One of the reasons that there is quite a low perinatal mortality rate in the USA and Europe is the prenatal care (or antental care) given to the expectant mother, and the specialist help supplied, by the following people:

• Family doctor (GP) The family doctor is usually the first person to be consulted if a woman thinks she is pregnant. It is quite possible that the doctor will be part of a group practice at a health centre. He or she may be a GPO (general practitioner obstetrician), i.e., a family doctor who specialises in care of pregnant women and children. Some GPs run their own antenatal clinics; otherwise they may refer the expectant mother to a hospital or local antenatal clinic. In any case the doctor will give general care and advice during the pregnancy.

• Health visitor The health visitor is a RGN (registered general nurse) with at least three months' midwifery experience who has attended a one-year technical college course. She or he does in fact look after the whole community, and is usually attached to a health centre, a general practice or a local welfare clinic. She or he may also work as a district nurse, providing nursing at home for people who need it. The health visitor may run the antenatal clinic and the child welfare clinic, and usually gets to know families very well.

• Community midwife The midwife is a RGN who has taken the added qualification of SCM (state certified midwife). She or he is qualified to look after the expectant mother, to deliver the baby either at home or in hospital, to give drugs if needed, and to care for mother and baby when they leave hospital. If the midwife is at all anxious, or any problems arise, she or he will?always call in a specialist. The midwife is in charge of the care of mother and child until ten days after the delivery, when the responsibility becomes that 14 of the health visitor.

?• Obstetrician The obstetrician is a doctor who specialises in looking after women during pregnancy (the prenatal care stage) and birth. The expectant mother will receive a check-up from the obstetrician when her pregnancy is confirmed, and she will be examined at intervals throughout and at the end of her pregnancy to make sure there are no complications. The obstetrician will make the necessary decisions if any difficulties arise, such as the need for a Caesarean section 104). A midwife or doctor carrying out a home delivery can call upon emergency services if there is any difficulty.

• Gynaecologist The same doctor may be both a consultant obstetrician and a gynaecologist. The gynaecologist co-operates closely with the obstetrician, as he or she is qualified and specialises in the treatment of women's diseases and reproductive disorders.

• Paediatrician The paediatrician specialises in the treatment of children up to their early teens. He or she may be attached to a maternity unit and will examine the newborn babies for defects. The paediatrician also acts in a consultant capacity in child health centres, hospitals, schools, etc.

• Neonatologist The neonatologist is a doctor who specialises in the care of the newborn baby and is usually a paediatrician.

• Social worker The expectant mother may have problems which are not simply medical, such as finance, housing, a broken marriage, or psychological problems. In this case she can discuss her problems with a social worker; sometimes there is one attached to the health centre.

If you have been struggling for any length of time to get pregnant the whole process can become frustrating. Doubts begin to arise and as a result stress starts to creep in. In the back of your mind you may be questioning everything wondering if you will ever be able to get pregnant.

Its human nature to worry when things don't exactly work out the way we thought they would. As a consequence you may start to form conclusions which have no basis in fact. I can be a bit of a worry wart myself so I can understand why you may be frustrated.

At this point it is necessary to take a little time out. It's kinda like when you are looking for something. Sometimes you just have to stop looking then all of a sudden it shows up. I am not saying that this will be the case here but at least when you take your mind of it you can begin to relax. Stress will not help you to get pregnant.

It's the simple things in life which make all the difference. You know the small things that make you feel warm and fuzzy. So do not over complicate the issue and keep it simple.

Let's discuss the basics. Sex which is wonderful needs to be healthy. Both of you need to be in good health. You do not want to have too much sex as this can affect your partner's sperm count.

Instead have frequent sex at the most opportune times. This will be leading up to ovulation. Keep your sex life vital; do not make it into some boring routine. Build up your sexual experience as this will lead to a passionate finale. Finish in the missionary position. Do not use lubricants.

Understanding your reproductive system is imperative. Hormones will be at play which will release the egg into the fallopian tube - while this is happening changes will take place with your body such as an increase in temperature. Your cervical fluids will also change in color and consistency. These fluids for a short period of time may look like raw white egg yokes. Understanding this will help you to pinpoint the right time to have sex.

As per usual take care of your health. Do not drink coffee or anything that makes you hyper which can lead to anxiety and stress. Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and exercise. All of the above will help you feel better and as a result you will relax and let nature do its thing.
